I'm managing, and even enjoying the pace to a certain extent. I'm far more on top of things then I was last semester, which is helping. Unfortunately me being on top of things means that I'm all but dead on dA. This bugs me to no end, because I really like browsing and commenting. I apologize to all who write journals and submit deviations. I know I have no real obligation to read/comment/look at (This is the internet after all) but I still feel like I'm letting people down.
The snowball fight was 30 min of awesome, BTW. Our side (the Lakeshore Dorms) totally pwned the Southeast Dorms. My pictures sucked, but there was about 700 to 1000 people there. I charged ahead early with a bunch of my comrades in arms, but we go pinned down in no-man's-land behind a snow pile. Fortunately our side soon charged en mass across the field to provide us with some relief. That was about the time I got hit in the face with a huge chunk of ice (That was about all that was throwable there...) I fell back to find some tissue to wipe the blood off my face. I ended up having to walk three blocks to Wallgreens, with people all the way going: "Crap! did you see that guy's face?!" Ha! Couple of girls even took my picture. Turned out to be just a minor cut that really was not all that noticeable once I cleaned up. I missed the part where we pushed them up the hill, then back down then over the bridge at the bottom, but all in all it was an awesome experience.
I would like to share a news article for people who still read these ramblings: [link] It really showed me one huge area in my artwork I could improve upon. If you notice all my sketches have been more or less flat, or made up of overlaid flat layers. My method for improving this, is to draw 3D primitives intersecting at weird angles, without reference. It's been working great, because sketching a few shapes only takes 5 minuets, so I sketch one while I'm waiting for class to start. I also drew the best hand I have ever drawn last weekend. It was so good, it took me almost 48 hours before I became completely disgusted with it.
In short: I may be dead on dA, but I'm still plugging away at my art.
I must get to bed now, writing this journal burned 24 minutes and 37 seconds of sleep.
