I thought this was going to be a boring summer, but I managed to pick up a summer internship!

It's for a local bio-fuel company, not my intended future line of work, but I'm sure much of the experience will be applicable anywhere. I'm hoping the reference gets me a job as an assistant in the fusion lab on campus next school year. *Crosses fingers*
So far I'm really liking it. My prediction that it would be at least two years before I applied calculus to a fun and interesting problem has now been shown to be off by about two years minus one week.

(I also never thought the words "I love calculus" would ever leave my mouth, just shows how much I have left to learn) I hope this part of the job keeps up, I would not mind in the least spending the summer poring over equations and formulas. *Dreamy sigh*
Difficulty in accessing the internet (most of my limited time is spent on research), combined with a packed schedule (Most of it not even related to the internship) means that I won't be online much this summer (I'll sneak an update in when I can

)
I seem to have hit another wall in my art, this time it's technique. I'm really struggling to control my pencils. I can draw lines just fine, but when I try to add shading, highlights, gradients etc. they end up being to dark, to light, or with not well defined boundaries. In short they look sloppy. It's a new challenge, knowing exactly where I want to put a highlight, but not being able to actually _do_ it.

I'll have to take a trip to the local library and see if they have any books on pencil technique.

Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved.
